PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Coarse Coco Peat for Maximum Root-Zone Aeration

OpenMix™ is a professional coconut-based growing medium combining 50% cocopeat with 50% coco husk chips. This high proportion of husk chips creates a coarse, open physical structure designed to maximise root-zone aeration while retaining cocopeat as part of the growing medium.

Compared with finer cocopeat formulations, OpenMix™ provides a much more open substrate structure, making it suitable for professional growing systems where aeration and unrestricted water movement are important considerations.

Supplied as an approximately 5 kg compressed block, OpenMix™ provides a space-efficient format for commercial storage, transport and preparation before use.

As part of the Nordic Coir 5 kg compressed block range, washed and unwashed processing options, low-EC grades and custom particle-grade options can be discussed according to buyer requirements and production feasibility.

GROWING CHARACTER

An Open Structure for High Aeration

High Husk-Chip Content

The 50% coco husk chip component provides a substantially more open physical structure than finer cocopeat formulations.

Maximum Aeration

OpenMix™ is positioned as the highest-aeration formulation within the Nordic Coir 5 kg compressed block range.

Open Water Movement

The coarse structure creates larger pore spaces within the substrate, supporting more open water movement through the growing medium.

APPLICATIONS

High-Aeration Coco Peat for Professional Growing Systems

OpenMix™ is designed for professional growing-media applications where an open substrate structure and high root-zone aeration are important requirements.

Professional nursery production
Greenhouse cultivation
Potting-mix preparation
Professional horticultural growing systems
Custom substrate preparation and blending

The 50:50 cocopeat and coco husk chip composition gives OpenMix™ a significantly more open structure than the finer formulations in the Nordic Coir 5 kg compressed block series, making it the highest-aeration formulation in the range.
